Charles Long, 85, of Sebastian, passed away on July 10, 2015, at Sebastian River Medical Center, surrounded by family.
He is survived by wife, Yukiko of 50 years; sons Mike (Arlene) and Charles T. (Michelle) and daughter, Mary (Mark) Mergott; six grandchildren; and his sister Helen “Sissie” Southcott, who also resides in Sebastian.
Long was born in Holmdel, N.J., and served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. He met his wife, Yukiko while stationed in Japan. He moved to Sebastian in 1992 and started a wonderful retirement there.
He was an active member of the American Legion of Sebastian, Post 189 and Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 10210. He was a good friend to many, mentor, husband, father, and grandfather. He will surely be missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay.
