Jeannie Weaver Rose, 90, of Vero Beach, formerly of Johnstown, Penn., passed away peacefully on July 12, 2015.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert G. Rose, III (Juanita Gravely) of Roswell, Ga., and Richard D. Rose (Susan Molden) of Pittsburgh, Penn.; four grandchildren, James R. Rose of Raleigh, N.C., Rachael R Newcity of Atlanta, Ga., Raleigh E. Rose of Roswell, Ga., and Robert J. Rose of Pittsburgh, Penn.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert G. Rose, II, and now is with him for eternity in peace.
Rose led a wonderful life for 90 years. She was among the first women to earn a degree in architecture from The Pennsylvania State University in 1946 and was a loyal and exuberant alumna and supporter of the University ever since.
In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Rose was an architect for many years and enjoyed gardening and golf. She was a member of Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church, 3755 Highway A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963 and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts be sent there in her name.
A service will be held at the Christ by the Sea Church on Friday, July 24 at 11 a.m. A private interment will be scheduled at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Penn. A guest book may be signed at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com.
