Author leads writing workshop at Lotus Center July 11

VERO BEACH — Writers of all genres and experience are invited to participate in a Saturday writing workshop to be held at The Lotus Center in downtown Vero Beach.

In her 20-plus years as a writing coach, Judy Reeves has discovered twin urges in women: the yearning to reclaim a true nature that resides below the surface of daily life and to give it voice.

The longing to express this “wild” authenticity through creative writing is the focus of this two-hour workshop.

Participants can register for either a morning or afternoon session, both of which feature specific tools, inspiring activities, and free-writing exercises to explore and celebrate truly creative feminine expression.

The workshops will take place at the Lotus Center, 2400 15th Ave. Suite 3, in Vero Beach, on Saturday, July 11. The morning session will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon session from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $55 per person and includes a copy of “Wild Women, Wild Voices: Writing From Your Authentic Wildness.”

Reeves is a writer, teacher and writing practice provocateur who has published four books on the craft of writing. A teacher at the University of California – San Diego, her work has appeared in magazines, literary journals and anthologies.

The Lotus Center, in downtown Vero Beach, opened in early 2015, and offers its space for meditation, meetings, and spirited workshops designed for the community’s greater good.
