VERO BEACH — A former Secretary of State, a leading cardiologist, an historian and filmmaker, and a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist will visit Riverside Theatre in early 2016 as part of the Distinguished Lecturer Series. The line-up promises to be the most diverse group of speakers in the lecturer series’ 18-year history.
“We know that 2016 will be a hot political season, and we hope that the speakers we have lined up will provide a welcome respite from the political fray,” said Debbi Peniston, who has co-chaired the series with Frannie Atchison since its founding.
The 2016 Distinguished Lecturer Season includes:
January 25, 2016: Eric J. Topol, M.D.
Director, Scripps Translational Science Institute;
Chief Academic Officer, Scripps Health;
Professor of Genomics, The Scripps Research Institute.

Mr. Stephens first visited Riverside Theatre as a participant in the inaugural DLS Debates in 2013, the very day it was announced that he had won the Pulitzer Prize for commentary. DLS is excited to welcome him back to share his perspective on politics and world events.
March 14, 2016: Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of State (2005-2009)
Dr. Rice will provide a sweeping look at global affairs during her tenure as secretary of state and national security advisor, including attention on Russia. She shares compelling stories of her experiences, which illuminate the interrelationship of global events and leaders.
Lecture times are 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Each lecture ends with a Q&A segment, and attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance through the Distinguished Lecturer Series dedicated website: www.RiversideLecturerSeries.com. Cost for the season is $350 for the Stark Mainstage and $200 for the Waxlax simulcast. Waxlax ticket holders will be given preference for the Stark for subsequent seasons as seats become available.
Last year’s season ticket holders are given the first opportunity to renew for 2016, after which time ticket sales will be open.
