INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Local construction experts applied their skills and talents to help create homeownership opportunities for four low-income families seeking decent and affordable housing in the Indian River Habitat for Humanity Waterside community in Vero Beach as part of Habitat for Humanity’s annual Home Builders Blitz.
The Home Builders Blitz ran from June 8 through June 19.
During this year’s event, Indian River Habitat for Humanity endeavored to build four homes, thanks to the skilled labor provided by local professional builders and volunteers. Nationwide, Habitat for Humanity affiliates in 23 states worked to build or rehab more than 200 homes.
Locally, the following contractors participated: All Area Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc., Brite Future Electric, Greg Miller Cabinetry, Jones Builders, Leed Insulation, Meeks Plumbing, PDC Drywall Contractors, Inc. and Temp Control of Vero Beach, Inc. James Hardie Siding and Simpson Strong-Tie supplied materials. Additionally, Habitat for Humanity would like to thank its national sponsors for their help on making this year’s Home Builders Blitz possible: Ames TrueTemper, Delta Faucet, Gildan MaxLite and MASCO Foundation.
