FELLSMERE — The Fellsmere man police say stabbed his nephew over an argument about pork chops in 2014 has been sentenced following a plea of no contest before Judge Robert Pegg.
Bill Wall, 62, of Fellsmere, was sentenced to two years confinement after he plead no contest to the charge, according to the Fellsmere Police Department.
His nephew was stabbed twice in the abdomen and has since recovered from his injury.
The Fellsmere Police Department arrested Wall on the evening Oct. 20, 2014, at a home in the 1000 block of Lincoln Street.
Police arrested Wall on a charge of felony aggravated battery/domestic violence.
According to authorities, Wall and his nephew argued over the number of pork chops each one got to eat for dinner, which escalated into a physical altercation that was broken up by Wall’s girlfriend.
The nephew left the room after the incident, according to authorities, but the argument continued and became physical again in the nephew’s bedroom, where police say Wall stabbed his nephew twice in the abdomen with a knife.
Wall told investigators he stabbed his nephew in self-defense because his nephew threatened him with a machete.
