Humane Society offers summer pet neuter special

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Humane Society announced a summer pet neutering effort for Indian River County pets.

The shelter’s “Got Balls? Get Neutered” campaign is set to sterilize 50 male cats for $10 and 50 male dogs for $20 on a first come, first serve basis. Pet owners must register in advance by calling (772) 388-3331 ext. 130. The shelter’s pet sterilization special includes a rabies vaccination and a one-year county pet license.

This program is for Indian River County residents only and proof of residency is required. All surgeries are by appointment and will be performed at the Humane Society, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach.

“Summer is the time when we see the greatest number of animals entering our shelter,” said the Humane Society’s Director of Operations Maria Ramirez. “We are offering this promotion to encourage Indian River County residents to help us reduce the number of homeless animals entering through our doors,” she added. For more information call (772) 388-3331 ext. 130.
