INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — County Commissioner Bob Solari has filed for re-election, seeking to keep his District 5 seat on the board.
Solari currently faces one challenger, Vero Beach Vice Mayor Jay Kramer, who filed for Solari’s seat in early May.
Several offices are on the 2016 ballot, including three seats on the Board of County Commissioners, two seats on the School Board, four seats on the Indian River County Hospital District board, two seats on the Indian River Soil & Water Conservation District board, two seats on Indian River Mosquito Control District board, and three seats on the Sebastian Inlet Tax District board.
Other races include the four Constitutional Offices of Property Appraiser, Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, and Tax Collector.
The District 1 County Commission seat is open; Commission Chair Wesley Davis announced earlier this year that he was seeking the Property Appraiser’s post. Davis is challenging incumbent David Nolte. Ruben Bermudez Jr., too, is seeking the office.
Seeking to fill Davis’s seat on the dais are Fellsmere Mayor Susan Adams and Sebastian Councilman Jim Hill. Currently, they are the only two who have filed for the race.
Commissioner Tim Zorc has filed for re-election to his District 3 seat. He currently faces four challengers: Charles Kirby, Mark Rodolico, and Joseph Earman Jr.
Sheriff Deryl Loar filed early this year to seek another term. He faces one challenger to date, Vero Beach Police Cpl. Darrell Rivers.
