McKee Botanical Garden gives fathers free admission June 21

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — On Sunday, June 21, McKee Botanical Garden will offer free admission to all fathers with any paid Garden admission from 12 to 5 p.m.

“This Father’s Day, why not provide Dad with an experience he won’t forget,” said McKee Executive Director Christine Hobart. “From ponds filled with waterlilies and wetland plantings, to palms and ferns tucked away in a “jungle garden” setting, McKee is a showcase of native and exotic plants unique to this growing zone that he’s sure to love.”

If Dad is a history buff, he’ll enjoy learning about the Garden’s founders and its fascinating past as he views the historic Hall of Giants and artifacts onsite. If he’s a nature enthusiast, McKee’s collection of 10,000 native and tropical plants will spark his interest. And if he simply enjoys time outdoors, a leisurely stroll along the Garden’s pathways past tranquil waterscapes and towering palms offers a chance to relax and renew.

Father’s Day visitors also will be able to view a display of waterlily photographs in the Hall of Giants, including contest winners from the Garden’s Annual Waterlily Celebration held on June 20.

Summer admission rates apply. For more information, call (772) 794-0601 or visit www.mckeegarden.org.
