INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Join a group traveling with “Day Trippin’” when they visit Central Florida’s newest attraction, the Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral in Cocoa Beach on Tuesday, June 23.
Seven stories high, the Exploration Tower resembles a building from another part of the world. It is an experience just to see it. Get a spectacular bird’s eye view of Port Canaveral and the surrounding area from the observation deck at the top of the Exploration Tower. Discover more about this unique part of Florida from seven floors of exhibits and interactive play.
Each floor showcases a part of the Space Coast including the history of the Space Program, Port Canaveral, Merritt Island and more. Each floor is also easily accessible and contains seating for visitors to take a break.
The Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral officially opened on Nov. 4, 2013 as part of the Canaveral Port Authority’s celebration of its 60th anniversary. Following the tour, the day trippers will enjoy lunch at Milliken’s located right on the water at Port Canaveral. Depending on the day, day trippers may get a feel for the “hustle and bustle” of one of the country’s busiest ports.
On the way home, day trippers will have the option of shopping at Ron Jon’s Surf Shop where there is something for everyone of every age, no need to be a surfer to enjoy Ron Jon’s.
Cost for the day trip is $75 per person and includes bus transportation, snacks on board, admission and tour at the Exploration Tower. Lunch at Milliken’s will be billed to individuals separately. The bus will depart IHOP Restaurant parking lot located on State Road 60 west in Vero Beach at 8:30 a.m. on June 23.
