Dan B. Lynch, 78, Vero Beach

Dan B. Lynch, 78, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Monday, June 8, 2015, at his home in Vero Beach.

He is survived by his wife Carol Lynch; sons Sean Lynch (Heidi) of Berryville, Va., Chad Lynch (Shelly) of Kansas City, Kan., Scott Risley (Bonnie) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Michael Risley (Jennie) of Apple Valley, Calif.; and grandsons Jackson Risley, Connory Lynch, Ian Lynch and Quinlan Lynch.

Lynch was a native of Huntington, W.Va., to Jenning Bryant Lynch and Bertha Ann (nee Nelson) Lynch. He served in the U.S. Airforce assigned to SAC in Wichita, Kan., but while in college he developed his desire for engineering especially in the field of aviation.

In 1973 he moved his family from Albany, Ga., to Vero Beach where he began working for Piper Aircraft. Shifting industry economies led him to numerous aviation companies throughout the U.S. as an aeronautical engineer. He had been working in Riverside, Calif., until his love of Vero Beach and Piper enabled his return 20 years ago, a move that also reunited him with the Lopresti Aviation Family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or the Humane Society Of Vero Beach, P.O. Box 644, Vero Beach, FL 32961.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Dan Lynch will begin at 4 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by interment with military honors at Crestlawn Cemetery.
