Claire F. Trio, 61, of Vero Beach, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on June 2, 2015, at Indian River Medical Center.
She is survived by her children, Vincent (Alisha) Trio of Vero Beach, Valerie Trio of Palm Bay, Michael Trio of Roseland, and Michelle Trio of Vero Beach; five grandchildren; her mother, Carolyn Short of Vero Beach; a sister, Elizabeth Calise of Vero Beach; and a brother, Samuel Short of Vero Beach.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1953 to Samuel and Carolyn McCallister in Baltimore, Md., and grew up in St. Louis, Mo. After relocating to Miami, she became a permanent resident of Vero Beach in 1978.
Trio had a love for children, not just her own, but all, which led her on a career path to teach Early Childhood Education, and obtaining her AA Degree from Indian River State College. After working in local daycares, she settled in at the Children’s Discovery Center in Vero Beach for years and will be missed by many.
