Donald George Bauer, 85, of Sebastian, passed away on May 27, 2015.
Bauer was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Nov. 27, 1929.
He was a wonderful husband for almost 60 years to Jean Bauer, who predeceased him on June 1, 2014. He said many times, “Her smile lit up the whole room!”
Bauer was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954, serving on an aircraft carrier, the USS Bataan. He was proud of his military service, and loved America. He was also a member of the Elks and the American Legion.
He loved his many dogs and his family, and was everyone’s favorite uncle.
There will be a Mass said for Don on Aug. 9 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. His funeral will be held in Detroit Lakes, Minn. on a future date.
