Vero man arrested for stabbing at 7-Eleven

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Police were called to a stabbing in the 7-Eleven parking lot located in the 2000 block of U.S. 1 on Saturday night after a Vero Beach man stabbed another man in the arm with a pocket knife, according to the arrest affidavit.

The victim was “bleeding severely” from his arm when authorities arrived. He told police he was dropping his sister off at 7-Eleven to be picked up by her husband after a family gathering.

The defendant, Alexander Mundy, 40, of the 1000 block of West 13th Square, Vero Beach, got into an altercation with the victim in the parking lot that led to the stabbing, according to the report.

The victim suffered a deep, four- to five-inch gash in his arm that was treated with stitches.

Mundy fled the scene before authorities arrived but was arrested later that night on one felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was released the following day on $15,000 bond.
