Suzanne Nolan Young, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2015, at Harbor Chase.
She is survived by her husband Charles “Chuck” Hathorn; daughters Joan (Grant) Yukins, Carol Gordon, Elizabeth (Joseph) Lowery and Margaret Garmany; four grandchildren Eric (Jennifer) Yukins, Jason (Yaima) Yukins, Jessica (Michael) Gordon-Roth, Kristin (Mathew) Connelly; six great-grandchildren, Zachary and Zander Yukins, Alexandra Yukins, Blair, Rowan and Pierce Connelly; two stepchildren, Patricia (Todd) Ertel and Fredrick (Linda) Hathorn; and many nieces and nephews.
Young was born Aug. 9, 1926, in West Hartford, Conn., and moved to New Britain, Conn., and then to Vero Beach in 1973.
She graduated from LaSalle College in Massachusetts and worked in the medical field in New Britain and Vero Beach. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Vero Beach Yacht Club.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will be at Crestlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960, the Alzheimers/Parkinsons Association, 2300 5th Avenue Suite 150, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in the name of Suzanne Young.
