Leonard ‘Lenny’ F. Clapp, Sr., 92, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 15, 2015, at VNA Hospice House.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dottie Clapp; sons, Leonard, Jr., and Robert; grandchildren Alyssa and Christopher; great-grandsons Bryn and Anthony; step-children David, Sharon and Scott; and step- grandchildren, Jaclyn and Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his former wife H. Jean Clapp, and his daughter Alison.
Clapp was born in Mamaroneck, N.Y. on March 2, 1923. He joined the Air Force and after completion of his military service, he worked for Westchester Joint Water. He then went to Pleasantville Water Dept. and then to the town of Mt. Pleasantas as Superintendent. He retired with over 50 years of service.
He spent more than 50 years in the Fire Service as a volunteer in both Mamaroneck and Pleasantville.
Clapp will be missed by his many friends and family. He was known for his great sense of humor and his golf game.
