Vero Beach Theatre Guild announces open auditions in May

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Theatre Guild is proud to announce open auditions for “Broadway to Hollywood, Hollywood to Broadway,” under the direction of Mark Wygonik.

The Guild seeks strong singers in all ranges for solos, duets, and group numbers. There are six open spots for men ages 16 and over and six open spots for women ages 16 and over.

There will be some staging, but the show will be more of a concert-style format. The show will use a combination of live piano and tracked music. Dancing is not necessary.

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on May 17th, 18th, and 24th, at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild, 2020 San Juan Avenue.

Singers should come prepared to do two numbers, one up-tempo and one ballade, one with piano accompaniment and the other with a track provided by the singer. At least one audition piece must be sung with the piano accompanist, with sheet music provided by the singer.

Some of the musicals under consideration for the show include: Spamalot, Young Frankenstein, Chicago, Rent, Mamma Mia, Tommy, Sweeney Todd, Some like it Hot/Sugar, La Cage, Nine to Five, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Lion King, Jekyll and Hyde, The Wiz, and Footloose.

Singers can choose a number from one of the musicals up for consideration or choose their own song for audition.

Rehearsals will be held in June and July. Production dates are July 23rd through 26th.
