Indian River State College offers Health Science Academy for 11th, 12th graders

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River State College Health Science Summer Academy for 11th and 12th grade high school students focuses on health-related career and occupational exploration, academic skills improvement, self-awareness development and enhancement of social, leadership and employability skills.

Students will be exposed to many of the fastest-growing careers in the state including physical therapist Assistant, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Medical Lab Technician, Radiography, pharmacy technician, surgical technician, Dental and Respiratory Care.

This summer program will be held June 8 through 25th 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the IRSC Main Campus in fort Pierce for Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River County residents. There will also be an academy for Okeechobee County residents at the IRSC Dixon Hendry Campus July 13 through 30th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scholarships are available for attendance, so sign up now to reserve a spot.

The Deadline to apply for the IRSC Health Science Summer Academy is May 19 for the Main Campus in Fort Pierce June 30 for the Dixon Hendry Campus in Okeechobee.
