Theatre-Go-Round of Quilted Giraffe announces 2015-16 season

VERO BEACH — Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre, located within the Quilted Giraffe Restaurant, 500 U.S. 1 in Vero Beach has announced its 2015 – 2016 season of original revues. This year the professional company will musically explore a variety of sights and sounds in The Big Apple: the city that never sleeps.

Opening on Sunday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m. will be “Welcome to the ’60s” that will have the audience swinging through a decade of hits in Greenwich Village. Performances will continue on June 14, 28, July 19, Aug. 9, 23 and Sept. 20. Some of the great classics being performed during this era include “Dancing in the Street,” “House of the Rising Sun,” “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” “Respect,” “Proud Mary” and everybody’s favorite dance craze “The Loco-Motion.”

“Between the Moon & New York City” celebrates the cabaret life and times of Peter Allen and will run Oct. 11, 18, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 22. Just a few of the many hits that Peter performed to sold out houses at Radio City Music Hall include the Academy award winning title song, “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” “The Lives of Me,” “I Honestly Love You,” “I Go to Rio” and “Everything Old is New Again.”

To accommodate the demand at holiday time for tickets as well as weekend Christmas parties, Theatre-Go-Round will present “Holly Leaves & Christmas Trees” reminiscent of the harmonies from Rockefeller Center on both Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. as well as Sundays at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20 and 27.

The New Year will kick off on Jan. 10 with “Karma Chameleon” and will feature Billboard & Broadway blockbusters from the 1980s. Legendary songs by Boy George and the Culture Club, Michael Jackson, Blondie, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John and others will share the stage with hits from the Broadway productions of “Music Man,” “Camelot,” “Pal Joey,” “Cats,” “Shenandoah,” “Starlight Express” and others that ran on the Great White Way during the 1980s. Additional performances will be given on Jan. 17, 24, 31, Feb. 14, 21 and 28.

Rounding out the season of music from The Big Apple will be “Take Me Back To Manhattan” and will be presented March 6, 13, 20, April 3, 10, 17 and 24. This lively revue will abound with songs glorifying the largest and most exciting city in America featuring such standards as “New York State of Mind,” “42nd Street,” “Sunday in New York,” “NYC,” “New York, New York” and of course the Cole Porter hit “Take Me Back to Manhattan.”

This year for the first time, Theatre-Go-Round Dinner Theatre will be offering patrons season tickets for $225 which will include a three course gourmet dinner, show ticket, tax and gratuity to all five productions; a savings of $50 over the price of five individual dinner theatre packages.
