VERO BEACH — For the first time, Theatre-Go-Round (TGR), the dinner theatre located within the Quilted Giraffe Restaurant, 500 South U.S. 1 in Vero Beach, will offer season tickets.
TGR will open its all new five show season by stepping back in time with their original musical revue “Welcome to the ’60s” opening Sunday, May 17. Performances will continue throughout the summer on June 14, 28, July 19, August 9, 23 and September 20 with doors opening for dinner at 4:30 p.m. followed by the show at 6.
TGR favorites Beth McKenzie-Shestak, Shamara Turner and Gregory Harris crank up the old boom-box and perform some of the greatest solid gold hits that propelled America through the psychedelic decade, the 1960s. Decked out in tie-dyed shirts, bell bottoms and big hair, this trio of Greenwich Village hippies will have you out grooving on the dance floor to such favorites as Aquarius, House of the Rising Sun, Crystal Blue Persuasion, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Respect, Proud Mary, The Loco-Motion and Dancing in the Street.
Chef Kurt Runge’s three course gourmet dinner begins with balsamic vinaigrette dressing over a mixed greens salad, fresh baked bread with seasoned olive oil or butter. Carved tenderloin of beef or fresh seafood of the day with two sides is followed by vanilla bean pudding soufflé and coffee or iced tea. A la carte beer, wine and full cocktail service tableside is available throughout the evening.
Designed to musically explore a variety of sights and sounds in The Big Apple, Theatre-Go-Round’s 2015/2016 season will also feature “Between the Moon and New York City.” Celebrating the cabaret life and times of Peter Allen and his sold out performances at Radio City Music Hall, this musical will be presented on Sundays Oct. 11 through Nov. 22.
To accommodate the demand for individual ticket sales as well as weekend holiday parties, “Holly Leaves and Christmas Trees” will be presented on both Friday and Sunday evenings Dec. 4 through Dec. 27. Reminiscent of the ceremony at Rockefeller Center, the evening will feature fun facts and little known stories surrounding the world famous mid-town Manhattan tree lighting.
“Karma Chameleon” will kick off the New Year Jan. 10, 2016. This musical tribute featuring Billboard and Broadway blockbusters from the 1980s will continue on Sundays through Feb. 28.
The finale show of the season, “Take Me Back to Manhattan” begins its 7-week run on March 6 and will continue on Sundays through April 24.
TGR is offering a $50 savings this year when purchasing a season ticket for $225 that includes dinner, show, tax and gratuity for all five productions. Individual dinner theatre packages are $55 per person. Show only tickets, based on availability are $30.
