Vero Council’s Kramer files for Commission seat

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Vero Beach Vice Mayor Jay Kramer has filed to run for the County Commission District 5 seat currently held by Commissioner Bob Solari, according to the Supervisor of Elections Office website.

Solari has not yet filed for re-election. Kramer’s move will leave at least one open seat on the Vero Beach City Council dais.

Kramer adds to the growing list of candidates vying for various seats in the 2016 election.

Commissioner Wesley Davis and Ruben Bermudez have filed as challengers against incumbent David Nolte for Property Appraiser.

Sheriff Deryl Loar has filed for re-election and currently faces one challenger, Darrell Rivers. Rivers is a corporal with the Vero Beach Police Department.

Fellsmere Mayor Susan Adams and Sebastian Councilman Jim Hill have filed to run for what will be Davis’s vacated seat on the County Commission, representing District 1.

Commission District 3 incumbent Tim Zorc has filed for re-election and currently faces two challengers – Charles “Chuck” Kirby and Mark Rodolico.
