Willie “Gene” Eugene Poole, 77, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 29, 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Poole; daughter Teresa (Mike) Peters; son Tim Poole; three granddaughters, Christina Boyce, Rachel Fjeld and Jessie Poole; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Jonah and Irland Boyc and Ezra Fjelds.
He was born Sept, 19, 1937 in Adrian, Ga., to the late Alice and Willie Poole.
Poole was in the U.S. Army, serving in the 82 Airborne Division and very proud to have served his country. He was a God fearing man who loved to tell everyone about his experience with the Lord. His favorite scripture was one that he truly lived: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” He never missed an opportunity to tell people about his children and how proud of them he was.
He was employed at Piper Aircraft for several years, retiring from there.
An inurnment with Military Honors will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
