Joy Smith, 55, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 27, 2015, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years Phillip Smith of Vero Beach; daughters Amber Torres and Aimee Cooper of Vero Beach; sons James Cooper of Sebastian and Mason Smith of Vero Beach; brothers Ray Laster of Grant, Robert Laster of Vero Beach and Rocky Laster of Roseland; mother Helen Laster of Roseland; and grandchildren Tyler, Summer, and Allen.
She was preceded in death by her father Allen Laster and brother Arthur Laster.
Smith was born in Vero Beach and was a lifetime resident of Indian River County. She worked in numerous packing houses in Indian River County, then was a manager and waitress for Prima Pizza before owning and operating Smith Cleaning.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday April 30, 2015, at Strunk Funeral Home Sebastian. A celebration of life will be held on Friday May 1, at 11 a.m. at Strunk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. F. Allen Yarbrough, First Baptist Church of Wabasso officiating.
