INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) invites area fundraising professionals and volunteers to this year’s “A+ Speaker Presentation” featuring nationally recognized fundraiser, Patrick Feeley.
He will present “Campaigns, The Road to Yes,” from 8 to 10:30 a.m., Apr. 29, at the Richardson Center, Indian River State College Mueller Campus, 6155 College Lane, Vero Beach. Registration is $20 for AFP members and $30 for nonmembers.

Feeley is the current board chair of AFP international, the largest association of charitable fundraisers in the world. He is also the executive vice president and chief development officer at Caron Treatment Centers and has spent the last 22 years successfully building meaningful relationships with volunteers and donors to support effective nonprofit fundraising campaigns.
Feeley calls a fundraising campaign a journey, not a destination. In this workshop, attendees will learn the critical steps on the path to building donor engagement, volunteer leadership, and a sustainable culture of philanthropy. He will also identify how to overcome the inevitable detours fundraisers and volunteers will experience on the “road to yes” with their donors.
AFP Indian River was founded in 2007 and has since grown to represent more than 80 local fundraising professionals and volunteers. The organization represents a cross-section of Indian River County’s nonprofit community, including both professionals and volunteers of all levels of experience. The mission is to advance ethical philanthropy through education, peer support and advocacy. The chapter has been honored with the prestigious Ten Star Award by AFP international every year since 2008.
