Sheriff’s Office investigating early morning shooting

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning shooting that happened near Winston’s Place in Gifford.

One victim who was shot pulled up to the crowd outside of Winston’s Place at 2:47 a.m., on 45th Street in Gifford, according to Indian River County Spokesman Sgt. Eric Flowers. There was no motive given for the shooting.

The incident took place at Orangewood Park Apartments, according to authorities. Shell casings at the scene substantiated the victim’s account. He was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.

The shooter was described as driving a gray car, according to Flowers. The person just pulled up and started shooting, according to the victim.
