Vero Beach man, 23, killed in crash on I-95 Friday night

VERO BEACH — A Vero Beach man was killed in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 95 near mile marker 148 Friday night around 8:30 p.m. during a rainstorm.

Michael Richard Lang, 23, was riding in a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Taylor Alannah Harris, of Sebastian, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Harris lost control of her vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Corolla, in the rainstorm due to wet pavement, which caused the vehicle to spin off the road and collide with a tree, FHP said.

Lang was pronounced dead on the scene, according to FHP, which noted in the report that he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Harris, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.
