Indian River Community Foundation elects new officers and directors

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Board of Directors of the Indian River Community Foundation recently elected a new slate of officers and directors to guide the organization during the upcoming fiscal year.

Bob Puff, retired Vice President of Sands Capital Management, was re-elected to his second term as chairman of the organization. Under his leadership the organization has grown to hold more than $30 million in assets, all designated for charitable purposes.

Scott Alexander, President of Northern Trust, will serve his third term as vice chairman, alongside Lois Appleby, secretary and Ted Michael, treasurer. Rounding out the Executive Committee is Andrea Thurn, a partner with Morgan, Jacoby, Thurn, Boyle and Associates, serving in an at-large position. Also joining the Board of Directors this year are new members Phil Coviello, Neill Curry, Ron Edwards and Sandy Rolf, bringing the total number of directors to 19.

The Indian River Community Foundation is a non-profit organization founded to improve the community through donor-driven philanthropy. The majority of the foundation’s assets are held in donor-advised funds from which fund holders recommend grants to any 501c(3) organization. Last year, in partnership with its donors, the organization facilitated more than $6 million in charitable grants, the majority of which stayed in Indian River County.
