New Superintendent of Schools comes to coffee April 10

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The School District of Indian River County, in partnership with the Education Foundation of Indian River County, is hosting a coffee meeting with Dr. Fran Adams, Superintendent of Schools. The purpose of this community gathering is to give parents, guardians, and stakeholders the opportunity to talk with the Superintendent in a relaxed setting.

At the coffee gathering, Dr. Adams will introduce the newly appointed Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mark Rendell. In addition, Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations will provide an overview of the school district’s budget.

The public is invited to attend the coffee meeting on Friday, April 10, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at Sebastian River High School’s, Sharky’s Café. The school is located at 9001 90th Avenue Sebastian, FL 32958.

The Education Foundation of Indian River County is an independent 501c3 that works to link and engage business and community leaders in the process of supporting education. The mission of the organization is to enrich and enhance educational opportunities for all students and teachers, both public and private, through effective fundraising and efficient allocation of resources.

The Education Foundation of Indian River County is actively involved in providing assistance to the school community through a variety of programs such as the “Sneaker Exchange,” student backpacks and school supplies, vision testing, the Science Fair and teacher and school grants.

The Foundation works with the teachers, school administrators and community organizations to develop, evaluate and fund new and innovative projects which will benefit the students. Our goal is to support opportunities for all students to achieve school success and to prepare them to meet the challenges of higher education and vocational pursuits.
