FOUND: Runaway boy, 14, from Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — The runaway 14-year-old has been found and returned safely to his legal guardian.

Jeffery Brink was located by the Vero Beach Police Department in the early evening hours of April 2, according to authorities. Brink went missing as a runway March 31.


March 31, 3:03 p.m.

VERO BEACH — A Vero Beach boy is missing after having run away again from the Vero Beach Devereux CBC Center.

Jeffery Brink, 14, standing 5 feet 9 inches, and weighing 179 pounds was reported missing as a runaway by his foster care counselor, according to Vero Beach Police. Brink went missing from 1459 20th Street on Monday, March 31, around 8:21 p.m.

This is the second time this month that Brink has been reported as a runaway and missing from the facility.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded shirt, black shorts, and a red hat, according to authorities.

Brink ran away from the foster care center after he was informed that he would be relocating to Lakeland, authorities said. Brink is under the guardianship of the State Of Florida.

VERO BEACH — The 14-year-old who ran away last week from foster care has been located and is now in police custody.

The Vero Beach Police Department announced shortly before 9 p.m. Monday that they had found Jeffery Brink.

“Jeffery is safe,” the department announced on its facebook page. “Thank you all for sharing his information and helping us locate this juvenile quickly and safely.”


March 9, 1:31 p.m.

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a 14-year-old runaway boy.

The boy, identified as Jeffery Brink, ran away from his foster care counselor Robert Brink on March 2. He was last seen at the Vero Beach Devereux CBC Center, located at 1459 20th St., on Monday, March 2, around 6 p.m.

Brink is described as a black male, 14 years of age, standing 5 feet 9 inches, and weighing 176 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, camo shorts, and unknown color shoes.

According to the Vero Beach Police Department, Brink ran away from the foster care center when he believed that there will be a warrant for his arrest in the near future and he would be returning back to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Brink is under the guardianship of the State Of Florida.
