FORT PIERCE — The man facing an attempted murder charge is now dead after he attacked authorities with a knife.
Authorities shot Jamalis Hall, 39, of Vero Beach, when he attacked them, according to Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Sgt. Eric Flowers. This happened in the 1000 block of Mayflower Road in Fort Pierce around 10:45 a.m.
When authorities located and approached the van Hall was in, Hall armed himself with a knife, according to authorities. He was ordered to drop the knife but refused.
A St. Lucie County deputy discharged his weapon, striking Hall. Hall was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Hall was accused of severely beating his wife and faced an attempted murder charge, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

VERO BEACH — The U.S. Marshals have the Vero Beach man facing an attempted murder charge in custody.
Jamalis Hall, 39, of Vero Beach, is in custody, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Sgt. Eric Flowers. He was taken into custody in St. Lucie County.

VERO BEACH — An argument over money and drug use led a husband to attack his wife, severely beating her and leaving her with a deep cut to her throat, authorities said.
In the early morning hours of March 26, Jamalis Hall, 39, and his wife, both of Vero Beach, were involved in an argument, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Married one year, the couple has a history of unreported domestic violence, authorities said.
During the argument Hall found that his wife didn’t have any money to give him, according to the press release. In a “fit of rage” he severely beat her, breaking her nose, and inflicting a deep cut to her throat.
His wife was transported to the hospital where she was treated for her wounds.
Hall fled the area in his vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office. That vehicle was located in Fort Pierce. A warrant for the charge of attempted murder has been obtained by Det. Ross Partee for Hall’s arrest.
Detectives believe Hall may still be in the Fort Pierce area, armed and possibly emotionally unstable, according to authorities. Hall is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds, and is bald with some facial hair.
“For many years, domestic violence was something that was kept behind closed doors, a family secret,” said Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar. “Too many men and women have lost their lives to domestic violence. Fortunately, Mrs. Hall is alive today. Our deputies and detectives have been relentless in the pursuit of Jamelis Hall and will continue to hunt him down until we put him behind bars.”
