Dogs for Life celebrates donors, volunteers

VERO BEACH — Dogs For Life, Inc. will celebrate the donors and volunteers who helped ensure the fulfillment of the mission of the organization in 2014, on March 28, 2015 at 11 a.m.

“We look forward to this event and having the opportunity to express our gratitude to our donors and volunteers. Dogs For Life has so much to be grateful for. It is our donors and volunteers who have made it possible for us to be working with so many clients today,” said Shelly Ferger, Founder & CEO.

Board President, Eleanor Bengyak added, “The number of clients we are working with to become Certified Hearing/Service Dogs has doubled in the last few months. So far, we have been able to keep up with the demand, but only because of the donations and volunteer work that goes into each client.

Each dog mitigates the challenges to their owner from mobility or hearing loss or post-traumatic stress. These specially trained dogs perform tasks by assisting with medical and life coping situations for people right here in our community, including our military veterans, law enforcement officers and first responders.
