SEBASTIAN — A Sebastian man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at the Sebastian Municipal Airport, after police found the man driving a Ford Explorer caught on surveillance video during the time of the theft.
Austin Monaghan, 32, of the 100 block of Harris Drive in Sebastian, now faces felony charges including burglary of a structure, grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and giving false information to pawn broker value less than $300, and one misdemeanor charge trespass on property.
Monaghan stole two pieces of equipment totaling $575 in value, from an unoccupied airport maintenance building just after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, police say.
When police arrested Monaghan on Tuesday, the defendant told authorities the stolen items were pawned, according to the arrest affidavit.
Police recovered the stolen equipment that had been pawned for $175 at a store Monaghan pointed them to.
Monaghan is being held in the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $31,000 bond.
