Bonnie Motsinger, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 7, 2015, at VNA Hospice House, with her loving husband at her side.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert R. “Bob” Motsinger of Vero Beach; two daughters Krystyna Motsinger Roseberry (Michael) of Greenville, S.C., Elizabeth Motsinger Rogers (Paul) of Wellington, Fla.; five grandchildren: Sarah Anne and Adam Roseberry of Greenville, S.C., Chelsea Motsinger of Clewiston, Fla., and Sierra and Samantha Motsinger of Wellington, Fla.; three loving sisters: Carol Vanderheiden of Vero Beach, Jean Cain of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jerri Anne Davis of Richmond, Texas; several other relatives and many friends across the country also survive.
Motsinger was born March 23, 1942, in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of the late Robert and Nina Belle Barkalow. She met Bob on a blind date in 1961 in Richland, Wash. She worked as a secretary for the Atomic Energy Commission in Richland, Wash., before they fell in love and married a year later in 1962.
In 1962, after the wedding, they moved to Lawrence Park, Penn., where they began their family. Motsinger was an amazing mother and a devoted and loving wife. She and Bob traveled all over the world. She brightened a room wherever she went with her charm and beauty. Motsinger was a cancer survivor and loved helping others who had cancer. She volunteered at the Cancer Center in Erie, Penn., spending many hours with patients.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Lawrence Park and Vero Beach for many years. She loved singing in the choir. She loved playing golf and tennis, was a member of the garden and bridge club and was crowned Ms. Idaho Falls when she was a teen. Motsinger moved to Lawrence Park, Penn., in 1962 with her husband Robert, where they lived, until 2003 when they moved to Florida. She had been a resident of Vero Beach for the past 13 years.
She leaves behind an incredible legacy that will live on forever. The love between Bob and Bonnie was amazing. She raised two beautiful girls who will carry on her looks, charm, wisdom and sense of humor.
You may be gone from my sight, but you will never be gone from my heart. I may not be able to see your face, but I will always see your sweet smile. I may never hear your voice again, but you will forever echo in my soul.
