INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Board of Directors of Florida District Exchange Clubs, led by President Nancy Gollnick of Vero Beach, met at Historic Dodgertown Saturday, Feb. 21. Other members of Indian River County’s Exchange Clubs who serve on the statewide Board include Secretary Eric Menger, Treasurer Kim Prado, and Division 7 District Director Cynthia Jewett of the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast.
Exchange Club of Indian River members who serve the Florida District are President Gollnick, Division 2 District Director Jenny Frederick, and Public Relations chair Jan J Binney. Florida’s Vice President for Americanism and Youth Awards Judy Landgrave and Newsletter Editor Bob Santoro belong to the Exchange Club of Vero Beach. The other two clubs in Indian River County are the Exchange Clubs of Fellsmere and Sebastian. National Exchange Club’s Region 9 Vice President Joyce Franklin and Paul Williamson, president of the Exchange Club of Sebastian, were special guests.
The men and women of Florida’s Exchange Clubs provide their communities with programs in youth activities, service, and Americanism. The Florida clubs are affiliated with the National Exchange Club, America’s service club since 1911. Florida Exchangites are proud that the state’s membership grew 14.7 percent in 2014, leading the country in club growth.
The national mission of Exchange is prevention of child abuse, implemented through projects of local clubs and more than forty Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Centers across the country. The Treasure Coast is the home of CASTLE the country’s first CAP Center, founded by local Exchange Clubs more than 33 years ago. Florida has five other CAP Centers around the state.
