Jacqueline Burns, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 1, 2015, at Indian River Medical Center after a long illness. She was surrounded by her three children at her passing.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Rowland of Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Schauben and husband R. Jay L. Schauben of Jacksonville and their daughter Deanna who is attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and son Dr. Kenneth Burns and wife Janet and grandchildren Rachel Burns of New York and Jacob Burns who is attending medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by her sister Roberta Seitzman and husband Arthur and nieces Andrea Seitzman Siegel of Westin, Fla., and Erica Seitzman of Hoboken, N.J.
Burns was born on Feb. 3, 1931, in Bronx, N.Y. to Esther Singer Bloom and Philip J. Bloom. She held two Master Degrees and worked as a Clinical Social Worker in northern New Jersey before retiring to Vero Beach in 2003. She was a resident of Grove Isle Community.
Service will be held at Hanneman Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway, Nyack, N.Y. 10960, on Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
