Dyer awards St. Francis Manor with $3,000 donation

VERO BEACH — Dyer Chevrolet, Mazda and Subaru recently announced the February 2015 recipient of the Dyer Difference Award. St. Francis Manor of Vero Beach is a non-profit organization with the mission to provide affordable and independent living to senior citizens who are on a limited income in an attractive, safe and socially supportive environment.

The organization serves approximately 100 local senior citizens on a yearly basis. Executive Director Linda Scott and staff of St. Francis Manor are very excited to be able to continue provide housing for senior citizens of the community.

St. Francis Manor will host a Bluegrass and BBQ Bash on Saturday, April 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. with live music by The Blue Cypress Bluegrass Band, on-site delicious smoked BBQ, a silent auction, drawings for prizes, and fun. The proceeds from this event will enable St. Francis Manor to continue renovations and improvements of its current 98, one-bedroom apartments.

Since relocating to the area in 2008, the Dyer Automotive Group has continued its family tradition of giving back the community in which it does business. Each month, members of the Dyer Chevrolet staff meet to review the applications which have been submitted and select one non-profit organization to receive that month’s recognition and $3,000 award. For the Dyer family and the members of the Dyer Chevrolet Mazda Subaru staff, it’s all about helping to make a positive difference in the community. For the recipients, it’s an acknowledgement of their tireless efforts to do the same and a much-needed financial boost to help further their missions.
