INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — For its second year, the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVBIRC) is playing “The Price is Right,” and local pets will be the winners. On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the shelter will distribute spay/neuter certificates in honor of World Spay Day.
Certificates are $15 for cats and $25 for dogs. Free spay/neuter vouchers will be provided to Indian River County residents on public assistance.
“Price is Right” spay and neuter certificates will be available on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 3 to 8 p.m. at three locations. Fifty certificates will be available at each site.
Sites include St. Helen’s Headstart, 3550 41st St., Vero Beach; Garcia Plaza Bakery, 2 South Pine St., Fellsmere; and Literacy Services of Indian River County, 795 12th Avenue SW Vero Beach.
Certificates are available on a first come, first serve basis to Indian River County residents showing proof of residency. If a resident arrives at a location during the appointed hours and all vouchers are distributed, he or she will be contacted by The Humane Society should resources become available for additional “Price is Right” vouchers.
One certificate is allowed per family. If someone has multiple pets who need to be sterilized, information about the clinic’s low cost rates will be available.
Certificates are for use at The Humane Society’s Animal Wellness Clinic and must be redeemed by April 30, 2015.
Certificates may be purchased using cash or credit/debit cards. Do not bring pets when purchasing certificates.
