INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Leslie Swan, Indian River County Supervisor of Elections is pleased to announce an opportunity for local college or university students to apply for one of three $1,200 scholarships through the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE), a statewide, professional organization made up of the 67 Supervisors of Elections in the state of Florida.
The scholarships will be awarded to three Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Journalism or Mass Communication majors who have completed two years of junior college or undergraduate work and are in good standing.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need, be registered to vote and be enrolled or accepted as full-time students in a senior college or university in the state of Florida.
Scholarship guidelines and applications are available at www.voteindianriver.com under the FSASE Scholarships tab. Completed applications, resume and two letters of recommendation, one from the college or university last attended and one personal reference must be submitted to the Elections Office in which the student is registered to vote by March 16, 2015.
Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan will review all applications and select one finalist’s application to be submitted to the FSASE Scholarship Committee. The committee will then select three winners who will be announced at the FSASE Summer Conference.
