Authorities respond to morning house fire, displaces 5

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County Fire Rescue along with the American Red Cross responded to a morning fire at the Orangewood Park Apartments that displaced a family of five in Gifford.

A 9-year-old called 911 at 3:44 a.m. about the fire in the 3900 block of 38th Court, according to Sgt. Eric Flowers, spokesman for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire displaced two adults and three children, ages from 3 to 14, according to the Red Cross.

There were no injuries reported.
