VERO BEACH — The Vero Friends of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra (ACO) will hold its Third Annual President’s Day luncheon on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Vero Beach County Club.
Accomplished violinist Liana Branscome, a 17-year-old high school senior from Vero Beach, will perform as part of the annual “Friends-raising” event that features outstanding young area musicians and invites new volunteers to join in supporting the Atlantic Classical Orchestra.
“The Vero Friends of the ACO are thrilled to have Liana Branscome join us for our Third Annual President’s Day Luncheon,” said Jean Beckert, president of the Vero Friends of the ACO. “Liana, one of the region’s more advanced young musicians, has been studying the violin since the age of five and has won multiple concerto competitions. We are proud to host this talented young violinist as she prepares to audition to continue her music studies at the college level.”
Branscome will present a virtuoso program that showcases the violin throughout the ages, including selections by Witold Lutoslawski, Sergei Prokofiev, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Pablo de Sarasate. Michael Lubben will accompany her.
Guests attending the Vero Friends’ Third Annual President Day’s Luncheon will enjoy an afternoon of music and learn more about the volunteer group’s history of supporting the Atlantic Classical Orchestra, which celebrates its 25th Anniversary Season this year. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Single tickets are $35 each; Sponsor Level tickets are $100 each. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Brenda Allen at (772) 234-4236.
