Stella Kinghorn, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 6, 2015, at Grace Rehabilitation Center in Vero Beach, with her family by her side.
She is survived by two daughters and one son: Carolyn (Edward) Richardson of Vero Beach, Pamela (David) Whiting of Townsend, Mass., and Joseph Kinghorn (Deborah) of Westford, Mass.; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Franek of Ft. Myers, Lily Kinghorn of Lowell, Mass., and Shirley (Kenneth) Skinner of Bedford, Mass.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other wonderful friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
She was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Dudley, Mass., daughter of the late Valentin and Carolina Franek. She was united in marriage to Clifford R. Kinghorn, Sr., Sept. 4, 1944. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2003 after 59 years of marriage.
Kinghorn was a loving and caring person who always put her family and friends first. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John of the Cross. She was an active member of the Ladies Guild. Kinghorn spent many hours as a volunteer at Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen and was an excellent craftsperson who loved to sew, quilt, crochet and knit.
