Livingston Taylor kicks off Masters of Music series at Emerson Center Feb. 14

VERO BEACH — The Masters of Music Series is a three-part musical event, the first of its kind, to appear on the Emerson Center’s stage. Brought to Vero Beach by concert promoter Rusty Young of MusicWorks, Inc., the three performances will bring back fond memories for those that grew up in the glory days of rock and folk music, and will make new memories for those that simply enjoy listening to great music.

Spend Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m., with folksinger Livingston “Liv” Taylor. Taylor, brother of the iconic James Taylor, has enthralled audiences for 40 years with a diverse original repertoire of country, folk, bluegrass, and blues. His top 40 hits “I Will Be in Love with You,” and “I’ll Come Running” launched his career, and a steady song output has characterized his performances ever since.

Liv Taylor has toured with Linda Ronstadt, Jimmy Buffett, and Fleetwood Mac among many others, but his fans most often come to experience the winning combination of raconteur, balladeer, and pure fun music-making that characterize his concerts. His 14th album, Last Alaska Moon, is out now.

Taylor is an American singer-songwriter born in 1950 Boston, and he is currently a faculty member at Berklee College of Music. His genres include jazz, folk rock, soul and gospel, and his instruments include voice, guitar, banjo and piano.

John Sebastian, lead singer of the Lovin’ Spoonful, will be the second of the series performing on Saturday, March 14, and concluding the series will be award-winning singers Janis Ian and Tom Paxton on Friday, April 10.

Promoter Young is co-producing this series with the Vero Beach based marketing and special events professionals, Beverly and Martin Paris of Paris Productions. A portion of the proceeds of each performance will be given back to the partnering organization of the (not for profit) Emerson Center to help defray their operating costs.

The Emcee for Livingston’s performance will be well-known radio personality Hamp Elliott of WGYL, The Breeze, 93.7.

Tickets for Emerson Center performances may be purchased either online at www.TheEmersonCenter.org or by calling the Box Office at (772) 778-5249. Series tickets range from $75 to $210 and single tickets from $20 to $75 (a $3 per ticket service fee will be added to each ticket price) and all concerts offer a VIP seating and a Meet and Greet following the performance.

The Emerson Center is conveniently located on the campus of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, on the SE corner of 16th Street and 27th Avenue. It has more than 300 parking spaces, an auditorium that seats more than 800 people in comfortable padded seating, a raised stage that offers everyone unrestricted views, and professional state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.
