Rotary’s ‘Wild Game Feast’ to benefit ARC, others Jan. 31

VERO BEACH — “Tastes like chicken!” No, really, for those who have never taken a walk on the wild side of al fresco dining, they will have a chance at the 3rd Annual Rotary Club of Vero Beach Oceanside’s Wild Game Feast benefitting ARC Indian River County and other local Rotary Oceanside Foundation charities on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Graciously hosted again by “Jimbo” Carroll at his ranch on 21st Street SW (with the help of Big Racks Processing and Cap’s Pizza), the wildly successful family event plans to offer untamed main course cuisine like wild hog, bear, turkey, gator, frog legs, venison including Red Stag, quail, oysters, fish and other ocean delicacies. Some tamer fare, like burgers and hot dogs, along with savory, homemade sides, delicious desserts and thirst quenching beverages will also be available.

The Wild Game Feast will also be serving up some lively contemporary country, rock, and blues tunes suitable for dancing from Vero’s own Crooked Creek Band who cover artists such as Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band, Jason Aldean, Jake Owens, Tim McGraw, Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Jane’s Addiction, Neil Young, Jonathon Edwards and more.

Other festivities throughout the evening will include a silent and not-so-silent auction, super raffle, 50/50, a whip crackin’ contest and lessons, corn hole competition, and many more fun games and activities for all ages.

Plus, a select group of vendor booths will offer their own unique haul of hunting, fishing, cooking, shooting, angling, and taming tales and merchandise.

A portion of the WGF proceeds will benefit a new residential community of The ARC of Indian River, a non-profit organization that since 1975 has been dedicated to serving and providing a lifetime of support to special needs individuals throughout Indian River County. The community will be located on the organization’s 9-plus acre West Campus at 2455 5th SW Vero Beach and will consist of three six-bed homes and three 12-bed homes. Plus, each home will have guest room to provide temporary housing so that a care giver(s) can take a much needed break. It is also their plan to dedicate and staff at least one of these units to accommodate aging special-needs individuals. For more information on The ARC of Indian River, please visit www.sunuparc.org or call (772) 562.6854, ext 219.

Fully tax-deductible sponsorship opportunities are available starting from $500 along with a limited number of vendor booths at $100 each.
