Nancy Ireland, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 16, 2015, at her home.
She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Ronnie) Burnam Abrams of Vero Beach; son Anthony “Tony” (Marcia) Rollins Burnam IV of Cincinatti, Ohio; and grandson Anthony R. Burnam V of Charleston, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Anthony Rollins (Tuck) Burnam and the late William D. Ireland, Jr.
Ireland was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Rudolph Homan and Helen Kroger. She had been a resident of Vero Beach since the late 1970s, coming from her birthplace. She was an avid volunteer for many years. She was a member of Riomar Country Club and very active on the Riomar beautification committee for several years, a member of Oak Harbor Club, and was a wonderful golfer and very knowledgeable about Florida Flora.
A celebration of her life will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Halo Rescue, 710 Jackson St., Sebastian, FL 32958, Humane Society of Vero Beach, P.O. Box 644 Vero Beach, FL 32961 or Dogs for Life, 1230 16th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
