Children’s Home Society of Florida hosts Bridge fundraiser

VERO BEACH — The 14th annual “Have a Heart…Play Bridge for the Children” fundraising event benefits Children’s Home Society of Florida’s Transitional Living Program, a program that helps young adults focus on completing their education and pursuing careers in a safe and stable environment.

The morning is kicked off with bridge playing duplicate and party games followed by lunch. Master points are awarded for duplicate and prizes will be given for both games. Also featured are chance drawings for fabulous gifts. This year, a men’s Swiss Tournament has been added.

The fundraiser will take place Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at the Bent Pine Golf Club, 6001 Clubhouse Dr., Vero Beach. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $80 per person, ($55 of the ticket is tax-deductible). Bridge begins promptly at 9 a.m. followed by lunch.

Each year, Children’s Home Society of Florida helps more than 11,000 children and family members in the Treasure Coast area. As community members enjoy an afternoon of Bridge, their support will help provide the services needed for the Transitional Living Program. The program provides safe housing, life skills, employment readiness training, educational support, financial assistance and mentoring to foster children and high school students, ages 18 to 23, who are homeless or about to become homeless.
