Raymond Martorana, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2015, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his longtime companion Peggy Ruetz; his son Charles Martorana (Jill); daughters Roseann Martorana, Patricia Martorana (Travis); grandchildren Dawn, Nicole, Matthew, and Derryk; and great-grandchildren Samir, Sicily, and Javon.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and daughter Vickie.
Martorana was born on June 29, 1927, in Manhattan, N.Y. He was an amateur boxer and then an entrepreneur owning Char-Vi Cleaners in Coney Island, N.Y. In 1970, he moved his family to Vero Beach, where they owned and operated the Beach Vue Motel.
He was a resident of Vero Beach for the past 45 years.
A private burial was held at Crestlawn Cemetery on Jan. 21, 2015.
