Juvenile arrested for battery, false imprisonment

FELLSMERE — A Fellsmere juvenile has been transported to the Department of Youth Services after authorities say he battered his father’s girlfriend and attempted to cover her face with a rag soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Noe Montiel, Jr., 15, of the 150th block of North Orange Street in Fellsmere was arrested Tuesday and now faces charges of battery domestic violence and false imprisonment.

According to the official report, Noe entered the victim’s bedroom wearing a mask and hat that covered his face while the victim was feeding her infant child.

The victim told authorities the defendant blocked her from leaving the room, grabbed her by her wrists and threw her on her bed, placed the baby in the crib, and struggled with the victim as he tried to cover her face with the rubbing alcohol-soaked rag.

During the attack, the defendant said he wanted his cell phone returned to him, according to the report. The victim told authorities she negotiated returning the cell phone if the defendant would dispose of a rusted knife she observed nearby during the altercation. As Noe occupied himself by throwing the knife into the backyard, the victim was able to escape with her baby in hand, authorities said.
