Richard D. Russell, 88, of Indian River County, passed away on Jan. 8, 2015.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanie McDaniel of Vero Beach; sons William D. Russell of Orlando and Terry W. Russell of Vero Beach; brother Eddie Russell of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-grandsons and many dear friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Dolores, an infant son, Richard Lee Russell, 10 brothers and three sisters.
Russell was born on July 31, 1926, in St. Albans, W.Va., to Hobart and Rosie Russell. He has been a resident of Vero Beach since 1966 coming from his birthplace.
He worked for the city of Vero Beach for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and jogger for many years.
