UPDATE: Missing Roseland man found on spoil island

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office has located the missing man from Roseland. 

Mark Korbut, 27, was found safe with his kayak on a spoil island in the Indian River Lagoon, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was not hurt, but is being evaluated by EMS.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 27-year-old man reported missing from Roseland. The man’s mother made the report, saying she hadn’t seen her son since Jan. 4.

The man is identified as Marlon Mark Korbut, of the 11300 block of S. Indian River Dr., Roseland. He owns a blue kayak, which is also missing from his home. Authorities do not know if he left his home with the kayak.

The Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard conducted an extensive search of the river in the Roseland area but were unable to find him.

Authorities say Korbut does not have a working vehicle and his bicycle was found at the home.

Korbut has no known substance abuse or mental health issues, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He is described as standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 170 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Korbut has multiple tattoos.
