Hilda C. Harbourt, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 2, 2015, at the Atlantic Healthcare Center in Vero Beach.
She is survived by her son Matthew S. Harbourt III (Sandra) of Charleston, S.C.; daughter Elizabeth “Susie” Harbourt-Gnann (Robert “Beau”) of Linville Falls, N.C.; sister’s in-law Joyce Harbourt of Titusville, N.J., Leona Carlsward of Vero Beach, Dotty Carlsward of Turkey, N.C.; 10 nephews; six nieces; and granddaughter Heather Anne Harbourt of Charleston, S.C.
She is preceded in death by her husband Matthew S. Harbourt, Jr., of Vero Beach; her parents Arvid F. Carlsward, and Hilda J Carlsward of Vero Beach; sister Helen Carlsward of Vero Beach; brothers Carl “Speedy” Carlsward of Miami, Arthur F. Carlsward of Vero Beach and Eugene Carlsward of Clinton, N.C.
She was born Sept. 2, 1921, and was a lifelong resident and native of Vero Beach. Mrs. Harbourt was employed at Western Union as station manager for 25 years and a secretary and bookkeeper for Catron Truck Brokerage and Hodge Trucking for 15 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Vero Beach.
